The La Travesía de Afurgad route begins at the new bus parking area located at the entrance to the historic center of Firgas. It first makes a brief stop at the restaurant El Rincón de Marcos for an initial tasting. From there, it continues on to La Tienda de María Teresa, a traditional grocery store with more than 60 years of history. The route crosses the Barranco de las Madres, offering impressive views and stories that can be heard through the audio guides. After passing right by the Aguas de Firgas factory, another tasting is offered and there is an opportunity to visit the shop.
From La Tienda de María Teresa, the route continues to the Fontana Rosa park, located next to the Firgas School, where, in addition to enjoying a park full of charm, banana nectar with gofio from Buenlugar will be tasted.
And now we come to the final visit, to the Deleite Canario Factory, right in the historic center of the town. We will reach it by winding through the streets on our train and there we will taste some of its products. From here, and on board our Aguas de Firgas train, we will return to the starting point, crossing the rest of the town center, going up through Cuatro Esquinas and Calle El Calvario to the GC-30, until our final stop.
Tastings
The tastings may vary throughout the year depending on needs and the season, although they will always feature products made in the municipality of Firgas. There will be products such as fresh watercress cheese from Quesería Pedrín, watercress jam, juices and nectars from Deleite Canario, Gofio de Buenlugar, mojos and many more.
Starting Point
The stop for the train is right at the entrance to the historic center of the municipality of Firgas, located in the tourist coach parking area.
Wristbands will be issued at Avenida de La Constitución 11 until 10 minutes before the train’s departure; this point is located 50 meters from the train stop.
